The Dubai Civil Aviation Authority (DCAA) has launched a new digital licensing system for security screeners at Dubai’s airports, a move designed to enhance security capabilities and reinforce the emirate’s position as a global aviation hub.
The initiative, developed in collaboration with the Dubai Police General Command, is part of a broader strategy to strengthen institutional partnerships and improve the long-term viability of aviation security. The system complies with both national and international standards and aims to bolster confidence in Dubai’s aviation sector.
Mohammed Abdulla Lengawi, Director General of the DCAA, stated the new system “embodies our firm commitment to security compliance in line with the highest national and international standards.” He added that the platform leverages modern technologies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the security ecosystem.
The effort aligns with the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, which seeks to support the government’s vision for improved safety and security across the aviation sector.
The announcement follows other recent security enhancements. Earlier this year, Smiths Detection secured a contract with Dubai Aviation Engineering Projects (DAEP) to implement advanced checkpoint screening technologies at Dubai International Airport.
