Engineering services company Kent has acquired Dubai-headquartered Sudlows Consulting, a firm specializing in data center design and engineering, marking a significant push into the rapidly expanding global data center market.
The acquisition, advised by law firm Addleshaw Goddard, is a strategic move for Kent to diversify into power-related sectors and bolster its profitability. Sudlows brings substantial expertise, having completed over 100 data center projects in 20 different countries since its founding in 2014, with a strong presence in the UAE, India, Saudi Arabia, and South Africa.
The merged entity will focus on addressing the rising demand for secure and efficient data centers while prioritizing the development of sustainable, low-carbon production methods. The combination positions the group to compete globally in a sector facing sustained growth over the next few decades.
Philip Dowsett, a partner at Addleshaw Goddard, noted the shared vision of the two companies, stating the collaboration “will provide sustainable solutions to data centre projects on a global scale.” The deal underscores the increasing corporate appetite for firms that can deliver the critical infrastructure underpinning the digital economy.
