A cybersecurity expert from Solihull has been named a finalist in a major UK business awards program, capping a rapid international expansion for a consultancy born out of a personal financial crime.
Sunny, the founder of Cybercy Group, was shortlisted for the 2026 Great British Entrepreneur Awards, supported by Allica Bank. The nomination highlights the growth of Cybercy from a regional startup in the English Midlands into a global risk advisory firm specializing in cyber security, data protection, and artificial intelligence compliance.
The consultancy’s origins trace back to a severe fraudulent cyberattack targeting its founder. Rather than treating the incident as a sunk loss, Sunny leveraged the experience to master defense systems, eventually establishing Cybercy to prevent similar breaches for corporate clients.
Today, the firm operates cross-border hubs in the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates, and India. Its advisory services target the intersection of corporate tech integration and tighter cross-border compliance, helping companies deploy AI systems responsibly while mitigating data exposure.
