DUBAI — Dubai Multi Commodities Centre launched a dedicated cyber security vertical on Wednesday as part of a newly consolidated tech platform, targeting the Gulf region’s accelerating digital transformation and rising threat landscape.
The new unit, dubbed DMCC Cyber, forms the backbone of DMCC Tech a umbrella initiative bringing together more than 4,000 technology firms operating across artificial intelligence, blockchain, gaming, and emerging digital sectors. DMCC Cyber launches with an anchor community of over 200 companies specializing in digital trust, identity management, data protection, and governance.
The expansion underlines a broader push across the United Arab Emirates to protect its digital infrastructure as governments and enterprises pour billions into cloud computing, AI, and smart city services under national initiatives like We the UAE 2031.
“Technology has become the largest and fastest-growing sector in our business district, reflecting Dubai’s position as one of the world’s leading destinations for innovation and high-growth businesses,” said Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of DMCC. “As that community has expanded, so too has the need for more specialized platforms that support different segments of the technology economy.”
Bin Sulayem added that DMCC Tech consolidates these sub-sectors into a single ecosystem, while DMCC Cyber addresses the “growing importance of cyber security in an increasingly digital world.”
The new vertical joins existing centers for AI, crypto, and gaming, with plans to introduce a quantum computing arm in the future. By integrating cyber security providers directly with DMCC’s network of more than 26,000 member companies, the free zone aims to help startups, investors, and corporate buyers scale secure digital services across finance, commodities, logistics, and manufacturing.
