Dubai: The UAE emerged triumphant at the prestigious Intersec 2025 Awards, held recently at the Ritz Carlton DIFC, securing eight out of 16 accolades in recognition of its outstanding contributions to the safety, security, and fire protection sectors.
The awards, which attracted a record-breaking 1,421 entries from over 30 countries, celebrated excellence across a diverse range of categories, from fire safety innovation to cybersecurity.
“The UAE’s stellar performance reflects the nation’s commitment to fostering a culture of innovation and excellence within the security and safety sector,” said Grant Tuchten, Portfolio Director at Messe Frankfurt Middle East.
A Sweep of Victories
The UAE’s impressive haul included wins for Dubai Civil Defense, Dubai Municipality, the Ministry of Interior, Emirates Safety Laboratory LLC, NAFFCO, and several other leading organizations.
Notable achievements included the Fire Safety Excellence Project – Middle East & Africa award for Dubai Civil Defense’s global fire reduction initiative, and the Outstanding Fire Safety Team Award, which was jointly awarded to Drydocks World and Luxury Owners Association Management Company LLC (LOAMS).
Lt. Col. Dr. Humaid AL Ali, from the Ministry of Interior, was honored with the Rising Star Award for Emirati Talent, recognizing his exceptional contributions to the field.
New Categories, New Frontiers
This year’s awards introduced three new categories, reflecting the evolving landscape of the industry: Excellence in Testing, Evaluation, and Certification; CISO of the Year; and Consulting Leadership in Fire Safety, Security, and Cybersecurity.
The CISO of the Year Award was presented to Harrison Nnaji, Group Chief Information Security Officer at First Bank of Nigeria, for his significant contributions to enhancing cybersecurity within the financial sector.
Emirates Safety Laboratory LLC was recognized for its transformative work in fire safety, while PwC Middle East was honored for its leadership in consulting services.
Beyond the UAE: Global Recognition
The awards also recognized outstanding achievements from across the globe. Detectortesters won the Excellence in Fire Safety Award for the Testifire XTR2, while Seagate Technology received the Outstanding Commercial Security Solutions Award for its Mozaic 3+ hard drive platform.
Red Sea Global was honored for its innovative approach to security interoperability and resilience, showcasing a commitment to safety and sustainability.
A Testament to Industry Growth
The Intersec Awards, held alongside the 26th edition of the Intersec exhibition, witnessed a significant increase in participation this year, with over 1,200 exhibitors and 52,000 visitors. This underscores the growing importance of the safety and security sector and the increasing demand for innovative solutions.
The awards ceremony served as a platform to recognize and celebrate the dedication and innovation of industry leaders who are shaping a safer and more secure future for all.
